Attend community meetings and speak out about noise issues affecting your area.
Identify board members and residents who share concerns about noise and overall quality of life, and work with them as allies. If you live in a neighborhood governed by a homeowners association, condominium board, or cooperative, consider running for a position to help shape policy from within. You can also raise awareness by speaking to local civic groups about noise pollution and its impact on the community.
In many urban areas, police departments hold community or precinct council meetings where residents can ask questions and discuss crime enforcement and quality-of-life concerns, including noise-related issues. Raise the issue of noise enforcement respectfully but persistently.
