I guess I could see a higher noise level being grasped at as a safety feature of last resort for some bikers with less maneuverable bikes, or with less developed riding skills. If LPSL ever does get some consistent evidence behind it, maybe they should make straight pipes a requirement for all squids.

Beware a quick fix with this one. Many a home-owner has tried, and failed to isolate the noise from an aquarium box with inadequate measures.

Also, if you're looking for airflow and isolation, it's tricky. The closest thing to doing that is an acoustical louver, which is basically a grating with absorption on the grates, which allows air through but not sound. However, getting these that actually work is a pain. There are about 8 manufact...

I'm going to set the record straight here. There are three types of noise control materials, each with a different purpose. 1. Absorption - This is for echo reduction, is governed by the NRC rating, and relies on sound passing through it twice, firstly on incidence, secondly on reflection. 2. Isolat...

His Smarminess does not see fit to educate us on the purpose and result of his Harley modifications. Perhaps he wanted to increase the respect for motorcycle riders among his community, and installed special "silent pipes" to prove that there are exceptions to the "attention whore Ric...

Yet you can write on the internet? Perhaps the stories about Harlem have some truth to them.

In other news, GMC Yukon drivers were found more likely to need replacement steering wheels for their small hands.

Yes, we're bikers, we're mortal, we die. A lot.
Not having a 5-star rated safety enclosure will do that to a body.
There are plenty of stories where that came from. Stop the irrelevant pity party already.

As we all know, anything not related to elephants is irrelephant.

Have you considered recording the woman's voice? I suggest throwing a little faux "party" of your own. Record this she-donkey's mellifluous melodies, put them on a CD, and find some reasonable sounding time of the day between 10 AM and 9 PM (perhaps the baby's nap-time?) to play it on repe...

My aunt had such a dog. Have you considered offering the offending household a gift of valentine's day style chocolate, with a little card addressing it to the dog? I have heard that this has a pronounced positive effect on a dog's placidity, and how could the owner say no to such a peace offering? ...
